The 2025-2026 school year marks a golden milestone for the Marbury Northstar Band - 50 years of music, tradition, and community pride. This year's 120-member ensemble represents the heart of Marbury's musical legacy, encompassing the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Basketball Pep Band, and the most iconic of all, the Marbury Northstar Marching Band. The Jazz Band is preparing a special Christmas show for us with popular holiday favorites.
From the roar of Major League Baseball crowds to the pulse of NBA arenas, the Marbury Band has proudly represented our school and community on some of the nation’s biggest stages from Atlanta Braves MLB Games, Atlanta Hawks NBA Performances, to Talladega Superspeedway Showcases and Country Music Hall of Fame performances. And this year, they're taking their spirit and sound to the heart of our nation — Washington, D.C. — for a landmark performance that continues our tradition of excellence and unity.

Always larger than life, Sami Lavette began performing for crowds at 3 years old, singing her trademark “Jesus Take the Wheel” for anyone that would listen. Kaleb King: Live at The Lyric
Kaleb Scott King was born in 1992, he grew up in the small town of Woodland, Georgia. Kaleb always loved music and was heavily influenced to pick up the guitar after listening to George Strait's greatest hits on repeat on his long car ride to and from school every day. He learned how to play guitar when he was 10 years old and he hasn't put it down since. Kaleb started playing around Columbus, Ga in 2009 before making the big move to Nashville, TN in 2012 fresh out of high school. Kaleb moved back home to Georgia in 2015 before the birth of his first daughter, Whitley. While raising his daughter he also played shows and opened for many artists such as Joe Nichols, Cole Swindell, Mark Wills, Gary Allan, Keith Anderson, Chris Lane and others. Kaleb is passionate about being an original artist and telling his story through music as well as connecting with his audience.

Matt Clements is a guitar player from Montgomery, AL. Since 2014 he has been an active member of the music scene playing with great local jazz artists and working in musical theatre at ASF. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in performance in 2021 and currently gigs all over the southeast playing many different styles from jazz to bluegrass. He is known as one of the premier jazz musicians in the state and we are thrilled ot have him perform at The Lyric with his trio as part of our Sunday afternoon Jazz series!

The Steel City Jug Slammers are an authentic American Jug Band from Birmingham, Alabama playing pre-WWII jug band and blues classics as well as weaving originals of their own. The Band is Ramblin' Ricky Tate, Jerrod Atkins, C.W. Medders, & Washtub Jay. The Steel City Jug Slammers were inducted into the Jug Band Hall of Fame in 2017 and featured on NPR's A Prairie Home Companion in 2015.
